This ramp and soak controller is simple to use. Just plug your Smoker (or other heating device) into the receptacle marked "Heater" and a Smoke Generator into the receptacle marked "Smoke Generator" on the rear of this controller. (See more images)

New & Improved - This Model
WST-1510H, replaces the previous WSD Series. This series controller offers several important improvements and enhancements over the previous series controllers.
  1. Improved durability for the sensor probe. The new sensor is more moisture-resistant, with larger temperature range, and more durable cable and plug. The sensor is immersible in water and can also be used for Sous Vide Cooking.
  2. A memory function that allows customers to store up to 8 temperature profiles for different recipes.
  3. A function key that can turn off the program mode if users only want to cook at single set temperature without using timer.

Unit has 6 "Easy To Program" Steps - Great for those smoking scheludes that call for several steps and temperature changes. The ending criteria of each step can be determined by time or by internal product temperature. Once the time or temperature called for has been met. the program advances to the next step.
Example: when smoke cooking sausage, you can program this controller to:
  1. Dry at 130° for either 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 100° 
  2. Smoke at 140° for 2 hours or until the programmed internal temp is reached
  3. Cook at 165° for 2 hours or until your internal temp is reached 
  4. Finish at 185° final until the fully cooked internal temp is reached
  5. Bloom at 90° for 1 hour
  6. Finish
Several Alarm Settings Are Available Including Probe 1 Hi Limit, Probe 1 Low Limit, Probe 2 High and Step Finished

Comes With Three Probes

  • This plug-and-play PID controller (WST-1510H) regulates the temperature of electric smokers, such as Smokin-it®, Smokin Tex and Masterbuilt Smoker. Utilizing a specialized PID algorithm, this controller is able to automatically adjust power to the smoker to compensate for disturbances from sunlight and wind. In addition, this controller holds high precision, maintaining the temperature within a one degree interval.

    This controller has three temperature sensor ports, 6 programmable steps, and an AC output synchronized with program step(s). The first probe is to control the temperature of the smoker cabinet; the second probe with pointed tip (WS-SENSOR18) can be inserted directly into the food to monitor internal temperatures; the optional third probe serves the same purpose of probe 2 to measure internal food temperature. For cooking small sized foods or smoking the surface of the food, users can use the preset time as a reference point to finish the step. It is important to use the meat probe(s) when cooking large amounts of food, because they act as a reference point to understand how long to cook the food for. 

    For example: You can program the temperature to start at 120°F for 1.5 hour of smoking, rise to 132°F for 2.5 hours, then finish at 190°F until the internal temperature reaches 170°F. The controller will either alarm its internal buzzer to alert you or drop the temperature to a lower set point to keep the food warm. This saves you time by avoiding manually changing the settings of the smoker after each step is completed. The synchronized AC output can be used to turn on and off the smoke generator with the program step(s). For example, you can program the smoker to dry the sausage at 140°F until the internal temperature reaches 100°F (step 1), turn on a smoker generator for 2 hours at 150°F (step 2), then turn off the generator to continue the next step. 

    Temperature Probe: 
    This controller comes with two temperature probes by default: Probe 1 (which measures temperature of the smoker cabinet) and probe 2 (which measures the food internal temperature). Optional probe 3 (second food probe) is offered.
