Old Amish Sugar Cure
A sugar cure product that has been developed as a cure for meat, poultry, game and fish. It is a combination of high grade salt and other quality curing ingredients that can be used for both dry and pickling methods of curing.

This Sugar Cure is a mix containing:
  • Salt - the main preserving agent
  • Sugar
  • .5% nitrite - curing agent that also contribute to development of color and flavor (Cures containing nitrite only are called cure 1 - Cures congaing both nitrite and nitrate are called cure 2)
  • Propylene glycol to prevent caking 
Sugar Cure mix is similar to the Morton Tenderquick and Sugar Cure mixes  - that is for refrigerated short term curing and brining. For long term dry curing use cure #2.
This is not a meat tenderizer.
